HAMBURG STADTPARK

Description

Essentials about Hamburg Stadtpark in brief

On days with nice weather all of Hamburg seems to gather in the Stadtpark (City Park). No wonder, considering that the huge public park offers everything your heart desires: huge lawns for chilling out and barbecuing, cafés and restaurants for your culinary well-being, an outdoor swimming pool, a lake for stand-up paddling, sports fields and playgrounds, a rose garden, a miniature golf course and much more.

The Planetarium in Hamburger Stadtpark

The open-air stage (Freilichtbühne) and the Hamburg Planetarium, both located in the Stadtpark, should be mentioned separately. The latter is not only worth a visit for astronomy geeks, since it also offers a so-called star theater, star concerts and other events around space themes. By the way, from the observation deck of the planetarium, you have a magnificent view of the whole park.

The Open-air Stage in Hamburg Stadtpark

Every year, concerts and events by famous musicians and artists on the open-air stage of Hamburg’s Stadtpark attract thousands of fans to the park. As the open-air stage only offers around 4,000 standing places, tickets should be booked in good time. If you can’t get a ticket, you still have the possibility to sit/lie in the park near the stage and listen to the music from there. Caution: Thousands of other Hamburgers also have this idea. Therefore, it is advisable to arrive in time to secure a good place near the stage.
